After settling in Jeff and I went to the outside patio for a perfect glass of South African white wine. We had a great view of Table Mountain. A big band of white clouds was sitting on it and starting to spill over the edge, creating the famous table cloth. It was so beautiful to observe that I felt like crying. Why do I like things like that so much?? The emotion was probably the effect of sleep deprivation. We meandered around the waterfront and found John for a bite to eat (crayfish). Later, we woke the boys and went for a swim. The pool is newly renovated and a bit awkward. There looks to be a hot tub but no hot water. As well, Jackson slipped on a funny ledge and did an unexpected somersault in the water. We ended the evening in the lounge with tea, scones, a hamburger, club sandwich, etc. And let's not forget the beautiful bottle of red wine, with hints of mint and eucalyptus.
Seriously!
All sounds wonderful..I would have been emotional as well with the" tablecloth" view
ReplyDeleteHi Chris and Jeff - I've caught up on your blogs at the end of a very quiet Sunday (exactly what was needed!) and enjoyed reading about your flights and arrival etc - and especially about the tablecloth! I wonder if Jeff or you caught it on the camera? Would so love to see that! Goodnight, or for you "Goodmorning" and have a wonderful day today. Love and prayers Janette.
